When we turn our attention to 'All Souls', it is to remind us that God's love is unending, and that although we may die without knowing Him, He still extends His invitation 'come to me . . .' even in death, and beyond death. Even in death there is life, hope.
In the Lord there is comfort and peace. In life, God is with each of us waiting for us to turn to Him, waiting to welcome us, to allow us to rest in Him, in death He is also there, welcoming. Except that in death the comforting and peace can last forever.
When we welcome Jesus into our hearts and our lives, we welcome eternal life; we welcome the resurrection. Jesus will refuse no one, deny no one; He will turn no one away. He is there waiting always to be welcomed, and to welcome. Maybe it is only in death, or in life after death, that some people will 'see the Son and believe in him' but even then the Lord offers the possibility of eternal life, of living the resurrection.
Lord, thank You for Your love and willingness to accept me always.
