We often say that all things are possible for God, but do we ever really think about what that means? Today's Readings give us some insights. In Acts we see Barnabas acknowledging that he was able to preach the Good News of the Lord Jesus to the Greeks in Antioch because he was never alone. It was the Holy Spirit who helped him.

In John's gospel we read how Jesus explains to the Jews that His followers know Him and He knows them. He gives His followers great hope by promising them eternal life if they believe in Him and follow His teachings. He goes on to point out that He and the Father are one. In other words that, unlike human beings who are all distinct, Jesus is one with the Father. But we have also been taught that God is the Holy Spirit as well.

Barnabas recognized that it was the Holy Spirit who gave him courage and wisdom to preach. Even though we live in many different countries around the world, Jesus sees us as all belonging to His one family. He makes no distinction between races and countries and claims that we will never be lost. Once we truly believe and follow Jesus no one and nothing will ever separate us from Him. Jesus is God and all things are possible for God.

Lord, we place our trust in You.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
