We have all failed and wandered from the truth and we have called on the Father's mercy. Having received mercy, we in turn should give mercy to others. We get glimpses of the Father's love, patience and understanding when we experience such qualities from someone who accepts us as we are, and does not wish to change us. The Lord seems far away at times and we wonder what He is trying to say to us. We must be patient and, trust in His mercy: and all will work out for the good. He has His plans. He tells us in today's Gospel that His standards are certainly not the standards of the world. Mercy is all embracing when it comes to people. The least loveable ones in the eyes of the world are the people we are to love with special care. There are no limits to love. We should love until it hurts.
