King Josiah, finding himself and his subjects misled, acted quickly to repent and make amends. He stands out as an example of someone who was responsive to God's word. The Book of the Law becomes his guide and inspiration as he leads his people to recommit themselves to the Covenant.

Today, our world is like a field with both darnel and the wheat. We struggle to differentiate between good and evil for we easily fall prey to the attractions of the world, which seem to direct us away from God. We can sometimes feel lost and distanced from God. Therefore, we need the spirit of discernment to help us keep on the right path.

Jesus warns us to recognize false prophets in our midst. The distinguishing factor is ultimately the fruit or final product. Prayer will also keep us close to God and His ways. When we are able to discern between good and bad, then we will be able to fully join in the mission of Christ to bring the Good News to the world and perhaps also inspire others to do so as well, as King Josiah did.

Keep my eyes from what is false; By Your Word, give me life.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That Christian families may lovingly welcome every child who comes into existence and surround the sick and the aged, who need care and assistance, with affection.
