Why is it that when God so freely forgives the sinner, we on the other hand are so ready to condemn Him? Surely things are upside down when God shows Himself so merciful to the guilty but we can find no excuse for the wrong done. Forgetting our own need to be pardoned we speak harshly of those whose crimes are public. Often we are highly indignant at the faults of others while we remain blind to our own shortcomings.
In His parable Christ saw how ridiculous it would be for a blind man to lead another into a deep drain. It is this same foolishness which leads us to provoke another by critical and unkind remarks meant to hurt. The follower of Christ is meant to be a peace maker and not a trouble maker. Our aim ought to be to heal and to forgive and not to make matters worse.
Lord teach us to be like You more forgiving and understanding. Remind us that we too need Your compassion and love.

DAILY OFFERING
|
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
