"What are you willing to give me if I deliver him over to you?" This was the question that Judas Iscariot asked before he accepted the thirty pieces of silver and handed over our Lord Jesus Christ to be crucified. When we read this verse, many of us wonder how Judas reached this point of betraying Jesus. However, when we look at our own lives, we may also find different events in which we negotiate with the devil in order to reach our personal goals to the detriment of God's will for all His people. How many times we have heard people using the following questions: how many tricks shall I use to earn more to the detriment of my customers? How much should I do to gain more trust from my boss to the detriment of my colleagues? Whenever we are involved in such acts, like Jesus being sold for crucifixion, a human being is put in a difficult situation. In other words, for money, trust or respect, we sell our customers or our colleagues. In any of our life circumstances, we should always remember that Our Lord is with those who listen to Him and humbly do His will.
Grant us, Lord, that we may always work for the wellbeing of our neighbours by humbly listening to You and doing Your will.
