Jesus is Son of God. He possessed the power to command the stormy sea to become calm. Life is not always plain sailing for any of us. Life is often filled with different mishaps, difficulties, failures, challenges. These difficulties affect and rock our sentiments and emotions like a boat rolling heavily in a turbulent sea. As Christians, we believe that our Lord Jesus Christ can help us overcome these difficulties in life. It is vividly true that, particularly when we sin, we need the Lord's forgiveness to pacify our anxious minds.
If we do anything wrong against God, our conscience will rebuke us and a feeling of guilt may strike us like a storm. Our life will be disturbed, like the situation of the disciples on the sinking boat. In such circumstances, Jesus Christ teaches us to learn from the disciples and call for his help - through the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation - so that our sin can be forgiven. David committed adultery but, when he confessed it openly to Nathan, God in his mercy spared him from death.
"Have mercy on me, God, in your merciful love; in Your abundant compassion blot out my transgressions."

DAILY OFFERING

Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
