Jesus is in full control of his life. They may be out to kill him; but he knows that everything will happen as His Father determines; and not at the whims and fancies of the crowd who are ever focused on sensational news, or of the authorities who cannot rest until they have done away with him! His total abandonment to the Father's plan is evident, when despite all the dangers threatening him, he announces in a loud voice his identity as the One sent by the Father to speak the truth.

In these days where there is so much political unrest few people, if any, will boldly speak the truth. All our fasting, Lenten observances and prayers are meant to bring about this 'boldness' to face consequences, when we need to speak the truth.

Courage and daring to speak up will make us free and calm in the face of impending danger.

We have nothing to fear, knowing the Lord has gone before us to show us the way. There is nothing that can hurt us when we trust our heavenly Father, for he knows us and will never abandon us.

Lord, like you I abandon myself to my Father as I say with You: Into Your hands I commend my spirit.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That the Church may appreciate the urgency of formation in spiritual discernment, both on the personal and communitarian levels.
