We may have heard many false stereotypes about Jesus. Sometimes what we think about Him does not corroborate fully with what is written in the New Testament. Some people used to think about Jesus as a person who speaks softly, calmly, nicely and never gets nervous. However, today's gospel reading shows a different picture of Jesus. Those people who were listening to Him were surprised. He spoke differently, unlike the scribes. He taught them with authority. He gave orders even to unclean spirits, and they obeyed him. He spoke powerfully.

The above is the image of Jesus that we should contemplate and imitate. A good Christian is genuine and real. If we want to be followers of Jesus, we must be courageous and confident about our faith and the Gospel's message. When we proclaim the word of Christ, people ought to experience an authority behind it and be astonished.

During prayer, you may ask yourself who Jesus is. Which attitude of Jesus would you like to follow? However, the most critical question is: Do you know Jesus well enough? Only people who know Jesus live like Him.

Lord Jesus, help me to see You more clearly and love You more dearly.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
