Not everyone is prepared to receive something new, especially when it is about God. Paul and Barnabas ran into opposition when they began to preach. It got them into trouble - persecution arose against them. But there were those among the hearers who were delighted with their words - the Gentiles. They knew that they were included in God's grace. If even a few people are open to the words, the mission has been accomplished.

Jesus told his disciples that if they have seen him, they have seen the Father. That does not mean that God the Father looks like a human. Jesus revealed the nature of God to the world and that nature is love and light. So, encountering Jesus is the same thing as encountering God. And as those continuing his mission, we should reveal God to others as much as we can. We do this through compassion, mercy, generosity, forgiveness, and concern for others. Jesus also said that they could do even greater things than he did because he was going to the Father. That was because he was sending God's Spirit upon them. With the Spirit working in and through us, all things are possible.

Lord, fill me with Your Spirit.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
