Christ the Light exposes all lies and those who
propagate falsehood and dwell in the dark. No darkness
can overpower Christ our Light. Christ’s abiding
presence is manifested by our life of integrity and
honesty. Are these virtues turning defunct at our
doorstep?
From the ancient Prophets to our days, the prophets
of doom are known to be rivals of Christ, God’s icon of
truth. They distort the truth and love to exploit and
manipulate gullible victims. To cite a stark reality that
we face today is the tragedy of scamming to exploit
truth and instill fear. Somehow, this inclination appears
to be the enemy within. Any agents of greed and
corruption are rivals of Christ. Conversely, those who
are on the side of truth and light will point to the one
nearest to the Father’s heart, Christ Jesus Who reveals
the Father.
John’s Gospel places us to the origin of Truth and
God’s consistency in communicating it as fullness of
life. Grace upon grace is poured upon our days, albeit in
our frailty to live up to the truth. So, we are empowered
to communicate with honesty in words and deeds. For,
“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear;
for fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears
has not reached perfection in love.” (1 Jn 4:18).
Dear Lord, in the morning fill us with Your love and in Your light let us not fear to live up to the truth that You are our everlasting goodness.
