In reflecting on the First Week of Easter, profound themes surrounding Christ's resurrection emerge: victory over brokenness, new beginnings, and a sense of mission driven by love and gratitude for the Lord. This week's readings encourage us to embrace the transformative power of victory over sin and death, which ignites renewed hope and life.

Peter's sermon in Acts 2 resonates deeply, emphasising the Holy Spirit's active role in our lives, reminiscent of my own initial encounter with the Spirit during a Life in the Spirit Seminar in my youth. Likewise, the Lukan Gospel on the road to Emmaus, strikes a chord; the disciples only recognise Jesus when He breaks the bread — a reminder that clarity often arises from shared experiences, openness and community warmth.

These Scripture texts underline themes of hope and new beginnings, presenting courage stemming from faith — as exemplified by Peter and John in Acts 4. Their boldness in proclaiming the Resurrection despite challenges inspires me to openly share my faith, even when faced with fear or uncertainty. On this Easter Saturday, I recognise that embracing the Resurrection includes taking up my mission as a witness in the world. It is a celebration of God's infinite love and the joy that comes with it. It provides my life with deeper meaning. I am inspired to cultivate hope within myself and extend it outwards, embodying the true spirit of the Resurrection. This week serves as an invitation to live out our faith and contribute positively to those around us.

Risen Christ, I hope in You; I want to bear witness to You.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day jul be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
