As the Father sends the Son, so does the Son send us. Just as what the Son has to say does not come from Himself but from the Father, in the same way too, what we need to say to proclaim Christ comes from the Father.

In the first reading, the Holy Spirit specifically wanted Barnabas and Saul to be set apart for the work to which He had called them. These two were chosen and sent by the Holy Spirit after hands were laid on them. Thus, they went everywhere to do just that.

Upon reflecting on these two readings, I realise that I have been baptised in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Aside from being graced as a child of God, I'm also called to bear witness to Christ. Like the early apostles, I'm sent to be an evangeliser, to bring the Good News of salvation to others. I can do it not so much in grand ways, but in small ways each moment every day. And I can do it based on the strength that comes from God and upon constant reliance on the Lord.

Lord Jesus, You have called me. I pray that I can be Your reliable and effective missionary in daily life.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day jul be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
For priests in crisis.
Let us pray for priests going through moments of crisis in their vocation, that they may find the accompaniment they need and that communities may support them with understanding and prayer.
