Those in active ministry or those who work in service professions may find that it can be easy to feel tired or even burnt out when seeking to minister to others. Sometimes there's the temptation to want to help everyone, but as those who are older and wiser would often say, "We're not here to save the world. Jesus did it already. We just have to listen to Him and work with Him." This is a wonderful reminder of what the Lord told His disciples after washing their feet, that no servant is greater than his master, no messenger is greater than the one who sent him.

When we realise this, then we grow in true humility to minister better to others, recognising how we don't need to have all the answers and how the Lord is there, supporting and showing us the way. There's a great freedom in recognising this, because the more vulnerable we are as we seek to help others, the more we're able to connect with them at a deeper level. That's what the Lord did as He knelt to wash His disciples' feet and that's what we're all called to do as we seek to love others as we have been loved.

O Lord, help me to serve as You have served, to bring Your presence to all whom I meet.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day jul be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
For priests in crisis.
Let us pray for priests going through moments of crisis in their vocation, that they may find the accompaniment they need and that communities may support them with understanding and prayer.
