在一個網頁中，聽到一個似曾相識的論調。該位作者這樣道：
Historically, the "ensoulment" doctrine of the Church meant a fetus without a soul could be aborted. In an anti-woman culture, early Church doctrine proclaimed a male fetus received a soul from God after 40 days, and a female fetus received a soul from God after 80 days. They had no way of knowing whether the fetus was a male of female. Thomas Acquinas endorsed the ensoulment doctrine whereby, after conception, each zygote moved through plant and animal stages before God gave the embryo a person soul about 42 days after conception. The Tomist doctrine held sway for centuries till 1588. Popes again changed the ensoulment doctrine before Vatican Council I in 1869.
Prior to the Vatican Council I, Pope Pius IX declared the Pope, when he acts ex cathedra, to be infallible. This binds all future popes to honor such doctrines. During Vatican Council I, he declared ex cathedra the baby receives a soul from God at conception and is not to be aborted.

那就得看以上所宣稱的，到底有哪些是事實。
關於「注入靈魂」的學說，其實一向與天主的啟示並不怎麼符合。教會從有記載的文獻開始，就已反對墮胎。人們所談論的，則是其背後的神學基礎。
在中世紀的士林哲學裡，有不少關於天文、生物學和甚至人類學的觀點，都是直接從古希臘哲學中轉借過來，當中難免有些地方仍是十分原始的。

Thanks a lot for sharing this book. I love it so much. I felt so sorry that I didn't hold my babe when he was crying more often in the past.

May I know where can I buy this book regardless through the internet, any chance to get it in HK?
