"Happy are they whose way is blameless, who walk in the way of
the Lord". These words of the Psalm implicitly teach us that it
is only by walking in the way of the Lord that we will lead
blameless lives. These words also contain an eternal promise: if
we walk in the way of the Lord, we shall certainly be blameless.
We shall also rise to an even higher level than blamelessness,
for we shall be blessed. God is holy and therefore we must be
holy if we desire to belong to God, as we read in the Book of
Leviticus on Monday. Since holiness properly belongs to God
alone, we cannot attain to holiness on the basis of our own
earthly wisdom or by relying on our human strength of will. We
need God, we need God's wisdom and strength. God has remarkably
met these needs by speaking to us in various ways, especially
through the Old Testament and then through His only Son, Jesus
Christ (Heb. 1:1-4). As the climax of God's revelation, Jesus is
the Truth. He is the way of the Lord for us.
Lord Jesus, You have proclaimed Yourself as the Way, the Truth
and the Life. Help us to walk blamelessly in the way of God as we
walk in union with You towards our heavenly homeland.
