Although Paul quotes part of Psalm 2 as a step in the reasoning that shows the resurrection to be the fulfilment of the ancient promise in Jesus, it also reveals the intimate relationship between God the Father and Jesus.
This is further reaffirmed by Jesus when He said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through me." This means Jesus is the 'guide' as well as the source of 'life' and 'truth'. This is the Jesus we pledge to follow as Christians. Without Him, there is no access to God (Jn. 1:18; 3:13). That is the reason Jesus urged us to "trust in God and trust in me" (Jn. 14:1). What else do we need in life? When we are confronted with situations that draw us away from the love of God, to whom shall we turn?
As Easter people, let us be courageous people who are ready to be challenged by the evil forces in this materialistic and individualistic world. Let us also share the Good News - the Resurrected Christ with those in our midst especially our underprivileged and marginalised brethern. We want to let them experience the love, hope and promise of our Resurrected Lord for He is truly the Way, Truth and Life.
Lord, may You always be the Way, Truth and Life in our lives.
