Today, during this season of Advent, Isaiah speaks to us about what is to come. What is to come is - the great banquet, the destruction of death, the end of tears, the blessing of the Lord upon God's people, and the assurance that the God we trust is able to save us.

Isaiah 25 is nestled within the chapters (Is. 24-27) known as the 'Isaiah Apocalypse'. This revelation of the end of the world ends with the downfall of enemies - supernatural and earthly. Death, our ultimate enemy, will also be destroyed. Then there will be a feast on God's holy mountain.

What is this feast that is promised? This feast is the feast for all God's people. It is the feast of the "best of meats" and the "finest of wines". It is the feast to celebrate the end of tyranny, darkness, and death. It is the feast to celebrate God's salvation of God's people. How can we respond to God this Advent in anticipation of this feast? We can only respond to God with trust, with joy, with gladness. We can concretely respond to God by sharing our lives with others.

Help us, Lord, so to live that we may come to enjoy all that You have prepared for us

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
