Jesus enters the Temple and with a prophetic gesture drives out those who were selling things there. He is the new Temple for the new community, place of worship, centre of meeting of believers. He is the new Teacher for the people of God. But again this prophetic action of Jesus increases the rejection of the leaders of the people although it motivates also deeper admiration and following among the simple people. A clear line of rejection and faith begins to be delineated. Where and what is my personal attitude today? Is my religion utilitarian, selfish, or is it rather centred in true love and admiration for Jesus Christ with all the consequences?

The First Reading from the Book of Revelation invites us also to reflect. "Take the scroll from the angel and eat it" is an image that the word of God has to be assimilated in our hearts before being proclaimed in our work. Again, is my Christianity too external or is it based on true belief and commitment?

Your decrees are my delight, they are my counsellors. With an open mouth I pant because I long for Your commandments. (Ps. 119:24,131)

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
