In His Spirit, we are united so closely with Christ and with one another that we can be described as Christ's body. Each of us is a different part of the body, with a different gift, and with a special role to play. Paul stresses that difference of roles does not mean that some are superior to others. All are essential to the body.

A prophet is one who speaks on God's behalf. Jesus, speaking on God's behalf says, "Do not cry," gentle, consoling words. "Young man, I tell you to get up" are words which return life and strength to the widow's son. The crowd gathered on that occasion witnessing the compassion and power of the greatest Prophet of God, knew that God had visited His people. "As the Body of Christ we must continue to speak and act in this prophetic way, so that the world may know the Good News - God has visited His people.

Lord, help me to show others that God has visited His people.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
