Both the Book of Proverbs and Ephesians show us that Wisdom is none other than God Himself. And Wisdom invites all the ignorant and the foolish to come to Him, to lean on Him and to learn from Him so that we may live. Had He not said that it is precisely for the sinners and the lost sheep (the foolish and the ignorant) that He came or that it is the sick that need the physician? He knew that ignorance and foolishness would lead us to ruin and finally death. It is, therefore, very important that we heed the voice of Wisdom who calls us to partake of His food and drink of His wine that He had mixed for our feast (Prov. 9:5).
The Gospel text offers us the same insight. Here, in and through the person of Jesus Christ, God invites as well as admonishes us not to remain ignorant, foolish or hardened of hearts but to listen to the voice of God and believe the truth that unless we eat of the flesh of the Son of Man and drink of His blood we will have no life in us.
Lord, God help us not to be foolish and hardened of hearts, but to believe that You are the Bread of Life and live!

DAILY OFFERING

Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
