In today's Gospel we read the story of the Annunciation. For us, it is the most important moment in human history. It describes the moment when the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity began his life as one of us, the moment of Incarnation. When we celebrate Jesus' birth at Christmas, He has already been among us for nine months. The focus is on Mary, the young unmarried girl who is disturbed to be asked to be a mother before her marriage to her fianc*. Nevertheless, she trusts the word of the angel and gives her consent. At that very moment, the conception of the child began. We admire the huge act of faith and trust that Mary made at that moment without any realisation of what it would mean. Later, she would understand what being the mother of Jesus would mean, especially as she stood in agony at the foot of the cross. Of course, her sorrow would be turned into joy. At no time, did she ever withdraw her "Yes". Let us ask her to give us the strength to keep saying Yes to all that God sends us in our way
