God is love. Jesus was and is God's love in this world. In the outpouring of His love and in His infinite concern for our welfare, Jesus in the Gospel tells us not to be afraid but to have courage in all circumstances. Yes, He loves us so much that He will not leave us orphans, but will remain with us always, guiding us. Though we cannot see God optically, but we can know Him from the effects of His Presence, one of which is love. Jesus' love and peace are the empirical effect of His new invisible risen presence.
St John in the first reading reminds us that God wants His love for us to be the motive of our love for each other. God yearns to see us living together in peace and harmony; eager to help each other. As long as we love each other, God will live in and with us. He will fill us with His Divine life and love. It is up to us to lean on Him, surrender everything to Him and to have complete faith in Him.
Thank You Lord for loving us. Help us to trust You, even in the most trying circumstances. Amen.
