Two farewells: Jesus to His Apostles, and Paul to the Leaders of the Church of Ephesus. Having trained a good team of disciples, both Jesus and Paul expressed their concern for their disciples and prayed for them. " I know quite well that when I have gone, fierce wolves will invade you and will have no mercy on the flock... So be on your guard". "I am not asking you to remove them from the world, but to protect them from the evil one". Paul also prays with them and for them after his discourse.
This is the beginning of a chain of discipleship that has kept the Church strong and active, surviving over her own human weakness and all attacks from outside. The master teaches, accompanies, shows good example, cares. The disciple learns, imitates, corrects own deviations and so step by step advances towards the goal of becoming a master, and so on.
Lord, I thank You for all the good masters You have given me to make me grow in my life of Faith. Make me become one of them, and give me the Grace I need to fulfill this difficult task.

DAILY OFFERING
|
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
