If we are truly to be followers of Christ, we must think and act like Christ. We cannot claim to be His disciples when we do not adhere fully to His commands. In the Gospel, Jesus calls us to be 'perfect' as the Father is perfect. Is this possible? By our own strength and understanding, surely not. But we are asked to rise above our pettiness, our pride and unforgiveness, to be compassionate as our Father is. We are expected to be what God has created us to be, good, loving and lovable.
If we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord, we are expected to keep ALL His commandments, not pick and choose what we are at home with. In the Book of Deuteronomy God has promised that we shall be His people and He our God, if we are faithful to our side of the bargain, to follow Him in every aspect of our lives. Then, we shall inherit the blessings He has promised He will shower on those who keep His law.
Dear Lord Jesus, help me to know Your ways so that I may be Your reflection to those I meet today.

DAILY OFFERING
|
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
