The community of believers was of one heart and mind. This sentence gives a sense of this community living out Jesus' commandment of Love, " By this shall all people know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another" Their unity in belief gave them power to witness to the Resurrection of Christ even as they themselves faced suffering and persecution. It was this that attracted other people to join them. Their conviction and their love led them not only to gather together to pray but also to reach out to others in need, to share what they had with the poor.

This is a model for us and for the Christian community to which we belong. It encourages us to share what we have, not only material goods but perhaps a talent, a word of encouragement or understanding, a helping hand, whatever contributes to building up the community to which we belong.

Has Jesus' resurrection made a difference in my life? Am I ready to witness to Him like those first believers? What do I sense Jesus is calling me to do today?

Lord I ask You today to give me the faith and the conviction of those first Christians that I may witness to you in my daily life and reach out to others in their need.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
