It is not for us to speculate what the end of our world will be like, still less to think that the images in today's First Reading from Revelation correspond in any literal way to the reality. As Jesus is telling us in the Gospel, it is for us to concentrate on the lives we are living now and to seek, find and respond to Jesus as we come in contact with Him at every moment of our day. Then we can leave the future safely in His hands. He will take care of us. In Jesus, the Kingdom of God has appeared among us but it is not yet complete. The world in which we live will one day disappear, but the words of Jesus, words of Truth and Life will be forever valid. This time at the end of the Church year is a time for us to make our decision whether we want to belong to the Kingdom that Jesus is inaugurating and not only belong but also to promote it.

O Lord, Your Kingdom come!

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That Christian men and women, aware of the vocation which is theirs in the Church, may answer generously to God's call to seek holiness in the midst of their lives.
