Some people were treating Jesus like a super-star. They were excitedly gathering in large numbers to see Him do more miracles. They were just sensation-seekers. Jesus tells them they are missing His real message. Jesus Himself is a sign, as Jonah was, but a much greater sign. Jonah had been sent to the pagan city of Niniveh to make its citizens aware of their sinfulness and call them to repentance. And they did repent - much to Jonah's surprise. The Queen of Shebah came from a distant country not just to admire the wealth of Solomon but to listen to His wisdom. Jesus, too, came to call us away from our sinful ways and to fill us with His wisdom, His teaching about the true meaning of life. The only way to approach Him then is in a spirit of humble readiness to listen to Him and ask His help in re-ordering our lives so that they are full of His spirit of truth and love.

Teach me, Lord, to listen and to change.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That, firm in their faith, Christians may be eager to dialogue with those who belong to another religious tradition.
