"More things are wrought by prayers than the world dreams of". This is not just a beautiful poetic quotation, but a truth that is illustrated over and over again in the Bible. We are called, as God's people, to come together to pray and to uphold one another in prayer so that we can experience the victory of God in our lives. We are to raise our hands to God with true humility and fall confidence in God's mercy just as Moses did; and we are also to uphold one another in our cause, never giving up. In this way, we come to know ourselves, not only each. As an isolated child of God, but we can walk our life's journey as a "people", a bigger whole. Once no people now God's own people.

We also see from the readings that prayer is a mighty tool for forces of evil - overcoming the enemies - first in the spiritual realm then the physical realm for was it not said in the Word also that we are not fighting against flesh and blood but against power and principalities!

The Gospel reading tells us that sometimes we have not only to be fervent in prayers but to be persistent as well. Why? This is because persistence reveals trust and God cannot resist a simple, trusting heart that has great confidence in His merciful love.

Father, may I come to You always as a simple child with great trust and confidence in Your merciful love.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That, firm in their faith, Christians may be eager to dialogue with those who belong to another religious tradition.
