Christ died for our sins. There is no way that we can earn our salvation. It comes to us as a gratitious gift from the Father. But just as Christ died for us, He also rose for us. All this happened so that our lives would not end in death with the mere knowledge of being loved by a great and wonderful God, but we can, in a very real way, move into new life by the power of His resurrection. In this way we can come to understand in an experiential way the meaning of eternal life which is non-other than "God-Life".

Have we all not experienced, at one time or another, deadlock in our work, efforts and even our relationships? And everything in us cries, "O I have laboured and laboured but all in vain!" Possibly because during those times and in those situations we have worked or lived by the strength of our own might. However, as soon as our eyes are opened and we realize that there is only one way to salvation or wholeness in our lives and we call upon His name, then His grace and resurrectional power flow into us and our life situations. Then what is dead becomes once more alive, albeit in a new way.

The gospel text shows us that the Kingdom of God is best preached or witnessed by those who have known Jesus in a very real, intimate and experiential way, those who have truly walked with Jesus.

Lord, that we may see and fully understand that salvation is Your gratitious gift to us.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
