The Book of Genesis begins by affirming that God created all things by speaking a word, and that all creation was ordered by the divine plan. All things exist and work together in harmony. For after the work of creation was completed God looked and found it very good. Thus, no matter what evil and failure followed in the history of humankind, we are to recall that goodness will prevail.

By Jesus' entry into the history of humanity, the powers of evil were destroyed. Indeed, through the ages men and women have looked to Jesus as the source of wholeness and healing. The summary of Jesus' ministry among the sick, suffering and possessed is Mark's way of emphasising the healing power of God. And those who recognize and accept Him in faith and simplicity are healed by Him.

In our own lives we are often confronted by experiences of suffering and failure. Too often we feel like giving up. Yet we are reminded that our faith in Jesus Christ will see us through these difficult moments. God does not leave us alone in our pain and suffering. Just as He created the world out of nothingness and made it good, so, He can make us strong in our brokenness.

Jesus, help me realize that You are the Master of all situations.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
