There are challenging words in the Gospel but there are also words of great comfort and consolation. Today we are offered rest from the burdens that we carry through our lives. For some, these burdens can be very great. We are invited today to carry the yoke of Jesus and to learn from him. Someone has said that Jesus here is speaking of a double yoke, made for two cattle. If that is the case, he is offering to share my yoke with me. We will carry it together. It is a beautiful thought. In carrying our yoke with Jesus, we can learn from him, especially his readiness to accept the will of his Father in all things. We will find then that, with him, the yoke is easy and the burden much lighter. And that will certainly happen, if we are members of a genuine Christian community. Then we will find that each one in the community helps each member to carry their burdens and we shoulder each other's yokes. No one is on their own.

Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto Yours!

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
