When someone has ruined our name or another has humiliated us in public or perhaps we are the victims of gross injustices - it is not easy to forgive and yet that is precisely what Jesus wants us to do. In today's Gospel, according to Jesus, holiness is not simply compliances with legal code but personal transformation. We are called to live a life pleasing to God, having a right relationship with God and our fellow human beings. Jesus does not want our gift of love unless we share that gift with one and another. He tells us very distinctly to leave our offering and be reconciled with one another if we are nursing a grudge of unforgiveness. Our worship is valueless if not sustained by a Christian spirit of reconciliation.

Therefore let us be reconciled with one another before entering into God's presence especially at the Eucharistic Feast. The forgiveness of injuries, the love of enemies is the seal of authenticity on Christian life and Christian love.

Lord remove the pride that stops us from forgiving others. Help us find the strength and courage to forgive and to love one another. Amen.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That our society should, with concrete acts of Christian and brotherly love, come to the aid of the millions of refugees who live in extreme need and abandonment.
