In the reading from Acts we see Paul in the Greek city of Athens. He is in the centre of the city where there are many statues to the different gods which the people believed in. Paul sees one erected "To an Unknown God", put there in case they might have left out one who would be offended. Paul takes the opportunity to introduce them to the God they do not know. He is the God who came to live among us in the Person of Jesus Christ. He is the God "in whom we move and live and have our very being". We have been privileged to have been introduced to this God and shown the Way how to love and serve Him. But perhaps in some ways He is still an Unknown God, in the sense that there are many areas in our life, many experiences where we constantly fail to recognise his loving presence.

Help me, Lord, to seek and find You in every person and in every experience of my day.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That those persecuted for the sake of faith and justice may experience the consolation and strength of the Holy Spirit.
