As He is about to leave His followers Jesus advised them about how they are to act in His absence. They had always brought all their problems to Him and found a solution to all their difficulties. To whom could they turn when He was no longer around to lead and encourage them?

The apostles were told to speak to the Father in the same familiar way that they addressed Him. The Father loved them as much as He did His Son and though invisible to them, His interest in them would not be less. For the Apostles there was now a family connection with the Father. They had been faithful to the Son and the Father would take care of those whom Jesus had chosen. In a special way they had heard about the Father from Jesus and they had been entrusted with the secrets of the Father. They were no longer strangers but members of the family.

Lord, we are Your children, saved by Your Son, brought up on the teaching that Jesus learned from You. Grant us the gift of turning to You as a Father, never doubting Your love for us. May we have more confidence to make Your love better known.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
