The concern of Jesus, as well as the concern of every disciple of Jesus, is to make the Father known and loved. It is our basic Christian vocation.

The powerful prayer of Jesus to His Father before He returns to His Father, proves beyond any doubt His consuming thirst and desire that God, as Father should once again reign in this world. No matter what we are called to do in life, we have always the opportunity to witness to the Reign of God. We can be assured that God will fill us with courage when the need arises. God will never be outdone by our generosity to proclaim Him even in moments of difficulty.

Paul had to use his wits to get himself out of a tight situation in order to go to the ends of the world - that is, Rome, as was believed by the Christians of his time, proclaim the Risen Lord. Grace-filled moments, as Paul experienced on the night of his trial, can be ours as well. Often we give up too easily in fear and anxiety. Perhaps, what we lack most is the faith to believe that He really cares for us from all eternity ... "even before the foundation of the world".

Jesus, on the night of His betrayal, could still speak with confidence of His Father's love. For Him that was stronger than the fear of losing His life on the cross the next day.

Fill us Lord, with courage to speak up fearlessly to make Your name known and loved.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
