St Paul exhorts us ardently not to allow sin to reign in our mortal body. The Apostle is an enthusiast of the human body. He considers it as the temple of the Holy Spirit, member of Christ, symbol of the Church because although it is mortal and weak but it is destined to be incorruptible and immortal. So our body should be without sin, sanctified, till be made a sacred offering to the Almighty. This is why St Paul tells us that, no matter whether we eat or drink, we have to do it in God. Our entire life, therefore, becomes a liturgy in a grateful workship of God.
This is emphasized too in the Gospel where Jesus exhorts of us to be watchful, especially the Shepherds of the Church who have to be truly responsible for the community.
Our help is in the name of the Lord who made heaven and earth.
