"For God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son .." This love of God is power. It sees no barriers and so "an angel of the Lord opened the prison gates, [and] led the apostles out and said to them "Go and stand in the temple, and tell the people about this new life" (Acts 5:19-20).

What is the new life? That no darkness or evil has any sway over those who believe in Jesus, the Risen Lord - who is the expression of God's love for us. Even when the great loneliness and emptiness that engulfs someone without hope is present, and gives the feeling of near death, there arises within each one's consciousness the poignant or significant moment which bares the truth we try to avoid - that salvation is near! Indeed it is to share this possible transformation in each one of us that Jesus came as a gift from God.

It is precisely to share God's interest in our lives that Jesus came into the world to illumine us with love and open the prison gates of our lives. Likewise, we too are called to remove the dark and gloomy aspects of our lives by illuminating the world around us with the love of Christ.

Yes, this is a call to evangelize - another name for sharing the love of God with others.

Lord, let the spirit of Your power and might move us out of our darkness into the light of God's unconditional love for us.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
