Because of His intimate relation with the Father, Jesus is the mediator of the revelation. His words and actions manifest the Father. In our Gospel today, He is reported giving thanks to the Father because He hides the mysteries of the Kingdom from the wise and has revealed them to the humble and insignificant.

The wise and intelligent are those who know how to interpret the law; those who "understand" everything related to the will of God. But this is the great "Paradox" of the Gospel of salvation: salvation is revealed to children, not in age, but in wisdom, those marginalized by those who know everything. The revelation of what God and Jesus wish from each one of us does not depend on knowing much but in how much we love and are in contact with God and the poor and ignorant whom those who know everything despise. As St Ignatius of Loyola comments in one of his Annotations, "What fills and satisfies the soul consists, not in knowing much, but in our understanding the realities deeply and savouring them interiorly".

The first reading from Isaiah reaffirms this spirituality. He presents in a beautiful image the two visions contradictions. The human centered on himself or his achievements and the one of God who advises us that we are only instruments of God. How do we live our faith and religion? Are we based too much on what we know or believe we know? Or are we fully based in Jesus Christ?

Happy are those whom You teach and guide, Lord, and whom you teach Your law and Your ways.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That all those who are in prison, and especially young people, may receive the necessary support from society to help them rediscover meaning in their lives.
