INTENTION : That the abundance of the gifts of the Holy Spirit bestows on the Church may contribute to the growth of peace and justice in the world.

Peace is one of the great challenges humanity faces today. It is the dream of every generation. The lack of peace provokes injustices, which in their turn fuel the conflicts which prevent peace from growing. God loves man and wants peace for him. We are invited to be active instruments of this peace, defeating evil with good.

Peace requires first of all the conversion of hearts. Peace is a gift of God, obtained for us by Jesus Christ and communicated to us as a fruit of the Holy Spirit. Receiving it requires sincere adherence to the Lord. The Christian vision of peace does not overlook justice, development and solidarity: these three values are the profile of peace for our times. In the face of so many challenging conflicts, so much hatred and injustice, a true and vast educational work in prayer for the promotion of a culture of peace is necessary.

This must stem from apprenticeship in the fundamental values of humanity and grace. Thus the role of the family as the great educator for social and moral life for a future of peace cnanot be underestimated.

The Church also asserts the need for forgiveness and reconciliation for peace. There is no peace without justice and there is no justice without without reconciliation. Christian wisdom tells us that the path to peace starts with reconciliation with God.
