A priest once said that Christians should "talk the talk and walk the walk." His explanation is, do a good deed so as to glorify God (walk) and commune with God daily in prayer (talk). The biblical stories today prove to us that Jesus and the early disciples led such lives. We should do the same.
The Gospel depicts God's holy presence in time of darkness and storm. Like the disciples, we are sometimes caught up in the storms of life. During such trying times, we need to focus on our Lord Jesus. He will surely be there to carry us through. Jesus came through the storm, walking on the sea to meet the disciples mid-way. In similar light, our saving Saviour comes to our rescue even before the "storm" is over, and at the most unexpected times. And at such times when He personally tells us "It is I, do not be afraid", won't we be much comforted? What blessings we have in Jesus, the Son of God who gave of Himself to the world on Good Friday and resurrected on Easter morn.
Gracious Father, teach me the ways to reach Your people in need and give me the grace to walk with You each day. Amen.
