What were the apostles called to do? They were chosen by Jesus to be with Him and then to be sent to preach the Good News. Similarly we have been called by Jesus to be with Him so that we can also be sent. Very often we forget that we have first to be with Jesus to get to know who He is, so that we too can be sent to proclaim the Good News. We have to seriously ask ourselves how often we spend time to be with Jesus? Do we really give our best time to be with Him or do we give Him what time there is, the leftovers, as it were, that is when we are really tired out and not able to really give our full attention to Him? If the Lord is a stranger to us, can we possibly proclaim Him to others? Hence spending time in prayer (being with the Lord) goes hand in hand with our proclaiming Him to others.
In the first reading from the Letter to the Hebrews, we are reminded that Jesus is our mediator with God in this new covenant that He has made between God and us. So, in whatever we do we know that Jesus is with us and that if we have any success we have it because of Him.
Let us thank God today for calling us to be with Him so that He can send us to proclaim Him to others. Let us pray that we will grow in the knowledge of Him so that we can really proclaim the Good News to the people we encounter in our daily lives.

DAILY OFFERING
|
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
