Jesus offers us an alternative in our perception of the Law. It is rather interesting to note in the Gospel passage of today the way in which Jesus perceives the Law. I reckon that most of us, if not all, would love to see or view things the way Christ did. With Christ, there is a possibility of capturing a whole new perspective. One can act differently only when one begins to perceive things differently. Hence, if we would want to view things the way Christ did, then our lives will be transformed from selfish love to God-centered love.

Like the Pharisees, we may have been caught in situations where we followed the letter of the Law rather than the spirit of the Law. Of course, it is quite secure to follow the Law. Yet, if we are called to be 'lovers of God' and 'lovers of persons', then there will be moments when we are called to go beyond the Law to the perception of Jesus. In order to do so, we ought to abide in God. Only with Him, can we discern well and be guided by His wisdom and love.

Lord, may our love for You help us see life and its laws in a new perspective.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
