Jesus had several times spoken of "Going to the Father". The disciples had not understood what He wanted to tell them. Now, suddenly, they realize the meaning of His words. And the complete truth was fully open to them. If the perfect knowledge and vision of what they believed would be realized in heaven, it would also be at their disposal here and now.

Yes, the time to realize a true communion with God has arrived. They feel so close to Him that they are sure that their prayer is heard. And not because Jesus seems to be their intercessor to reach that communion: "I do not say to you that I will ask the Father on your behalf; for the Father himself loves you because you have loved me" (Jn.16:26).

The Father, Jesus, the disciples, the believers, the Church form a unity of love. Not because the love of God would be depending on the love which the believers profess for Christ. The evangelist reminds again because Jesus and His disciples form a circle of love. Jesus has never abandoned His Father; He has been always with the Father and the Father with Him. On the other hand, Jesus has not abandoned the world, He is with His disciples although in a different way. Let us therefore, be with Jesus and one another.

Lord Jesus, don't allow me ever to be separated from You. Help me be always with You and for You.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That allowing himself to be enlightened and guided by the Holy Spirit, every Christian may answer enthusiastically and faithfully to the universal call to sanctity.
