Though God saw clearly the evil that would follow the creation of human beings He did not desist from His purpose. They would have the freedom to disregard His will and cause disunity among themselves yet that did not deter Him from putting the great plan of creation into effect. His desire to share His life with us prevailed over other considerations.

Nevertheless, God took means to counteract the spread of evil and help His children to respond to the law of goodness and love. The key factor in this design was to send His Son to live with us and become one with us. Born of a virgin mother, He had grown to manhood when He was identified by John as the one sent by God to overcome evil in the world. To His friends Jesus was the carpenter of Nazareth but He was the one who could bring a sinful world back to the Father. As He passed by watched by John and his disciples, the world did not realize that the conqueror of sin and shame had come amongst them. Millions would rely on Him for mercy and strength. As a lamb of sacrifice He would give His life for our happiness. Through Him we would become children of the Father.

Our help is in the name of the Lord who made Heaven and Earth.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That the Church may strengthen her commitment to full visible unity in order to manifest in an ever growing degree her nature as community of love, in which is reflected the communion of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
