Sometimes the message of the Gospel is foreign to our ears. At other times we are not in the mood to listen to a word of admonition. There have been occasions when I took on a new kind of devotion. It seemed to be just what I needed, but the novelty quickly wore off and my enthusiasm waned. Different forms of prayer have made their appeal to me but each form made demands to which I wasn't ready to submit. When I decided to take up bible study seriously, an addition to my workload at the office descended on me and my copy of the bible now needs to be dusted.
However, the Lord says His word like the rain, doesn't return to Him unused. There are people who find real joy in comforting the sick, in sharing time which they thought they could not spare. Parents have found it much more rewarding to give top priority to their children rather than to their career or their business. Many have found today that sharing their thoughts on a bible passage is a sure way to strengthen a neighbourhood relationship.
Father, help us to respond to the movements of Your grace. May we not be deaf to Your invitations to know and love You better.

DAILY OFFERING
|
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
