Despite all the miracles that Jesus Christ already worked, the Scribes and Pharisees ask for more signs. The exasperated Jesus offers them no more signs but instead calls on them to listen to Him.

In life, we often look for external signs/manifestations to make us believe or even to substantiate our arguments. What Jesus is calling for is faith. Faith is beyond all reason and signs. We cannot rely only on miracles/signs to sustain or increase our faith. In our world of new discoveries, we say that seeing is believing but in one of the post-resurrection appearances, Jesus says "blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe" (Jn. 20:29).

The Gospel invites us to be "living miracles" that offer the world a sign of the living presence of Christ. Let us not look for miracles/signs, but let us become the miracle/sign that can lead others to Jesus. Let our lives be a manifestation of the call to act justly, to love tenderly, and to walk humbly with our God. (cf. Micah 6:8).

God our Father, grant us the grace to be the "living miracles" of Your Son, Jesus Christ.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That there may be an increase in the number of those who, as volunteers, offer their services to the Christian community with generous and prompt availability.
