Today's Gospel reading brings us a wonderful story of Jesus' power over death and illness. It is also an image of God's mercy and love. There are two important points we should learn from this image.

The first one is that it is never too late to ask for God's help. Maybe sometimes people around us lose faith and tell us that we can expect only the worst. Maybe there is a time in our life or in the lives of our relatives and friends when bad news comes one after another. Jesus who raised the little girl from the dead is always able to awaken our hope from the nightmares of helplessness and sadness.

And the second point tells us that nobody is anonymous in Jesus' eyes. Jesus calls every one of us by name because He wants to look at our faces as He looked at the face of that suffering woman. For Jesus I am not one out of many but I am the only one out of many. For Jesus every one of us is like His beloved friend.

"I will espouse you to me forever: I will espouse you in right and in justice, in love and in mercy" - God said to the Israelites through the prophet Hosea. May we hear Jesus' voice in our hearts. He is looking for us in order to make our hope and love stronger. "I will espouse you in fidelity, and you shall know the LORD."

Thank You Lord Jesus for making me Your beloved friend.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
