It is while the ten lepers were on their way to show themselves to the priests, in response to Jesus' command, that they discovered themselves being healed; though only the foreigner among them returned to give thanks.

In the spiritual life it is precisely in the journey of striving to understand God's ways that growth and fruitfulness happens. It is in our seeking that we are found. Most importantly we will discover our deepest desire achieved not in our arriving but in our journeying, not in the finding but in the searching.

Jesus has already found us even as we go in search of him. Our healing takes place along the way we are travelling. Gratitude mirrors God. "The best prayer is to rest in God's goodness and let that goodness touch our deepest need." (Julian of Norwich a fifteenth century mystic) The samaritan was able to recognise this goodness of God. The other nine were more elated by the cure and forgot the source. Do I journey through life oblivious of God's goodness and action in my life?

Create in me a heart that rejoices in Your goodness, Lord.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That through the support of the Christian community, all victims of addiction may find in the power of our saving God strength for a radical life change.
