Jesus' own relations in His hometown did not accept or believe in Him; He was amazed at their lack of faith. "A prophet is only despised in his own country", He lamented. Ezekiel was sent by the Lord to the rebels to prepare them for the final destruction of Jerusalem. It seems the Lord sends prophets to those, whether they listen or not, remains faithful and steadfast. Regardless how difficult the situations, the prophets will be filled with spirit.
Paul claimed that he should be very happy to make his weakness his special boast so that the power of Christ would stay over him. He trusted that the Grace of the Lord was enough for him.
How many times have we heard the calling: "I am sending you to ..." How often do we get disappointed at others' distrust and feel helpless? Have we also felt "a thorn in the flesh" at times? Then, do we bring our frustations to the Lord in our prayer and listen? Do we heed like Paul did: "My grace is engough for you; my power is at its best in weakness?" Do we also experience like Prophet Ezekiel that "the spirit came into me and made me stand up?" In sum, do we believe and live the paradoxical aspect of our faith that when we are weak, we are strong?
Lord, make me believe in all circumstances that Your grace is enough for me and put it into practice.
